Education:

  • Studied porcelain painting at the Aluminia School of Art in Copenhagen. Then Attended the Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen from 1876-1883.

  • Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Paris, Holland and Germany.

Awards & Acknowledgments:

  • Won the Sodrings Prize in 1886; the Royal Art Academy Medal in 1886, 1893, 1902; and the Bielke Medal in 1895.

*Sigvard Hansen is known for his amazingly detailed landscapes, interiors, and conspicuously idyllic motifs. His colossal talent for anything technically difficult made him one of his generations most loved and appreciated artist.
