Heileman, Ernst (1870- ?)

Ernst Heileman was a very well known artist in Berlin at the turn of the 20th Century. He was born in 1870, studied at the Berlin Academy and continued his education on study trips to Italy, France, England and North America.

Heileman was known as a portrayer of mundane life in Berlin. Especially popular were his lively colorful drawings made for magazines “Lustige Blaetter”, “Simplizissimus”, and “Jugend”. From 1893 and on the artist regularly participated in notable art exhibitions in Berlin.
