Bathing The Sheep

Catalog# BRAH-001

A herd of sheep are herded to a calm, pebble shore to be bathed by their shepherd and four women. The woman to the far left is carrying a sheep to the shallow water, while the shepherd is bringing down a ram by its tail and horn to soak it. Two women further in the water are rubbing the sheep’s wool while the third woman peers over to the sheep rummaging in their lunch baskets. The figures are dressed in standard farm attire. The mid-day sun brings a clear light to the scene serenely set against wooly sheep resting on the shore, the green mounding coast, and calm waters. The viewer is shown all views of the sheep from the rump of the one being carried, to the eye contact made by the sheep behind the rummager. The water is translucent, clearly showing the submerged pebbles, and tangible with the dense rippling from the bathers.
